The Jorge Pensi Design Studio was created in 1984 in the gothic  quarter of Barcelona. Since then, the studio has become known internationally as a benchmark of contemporary design. The minimalist and expressive designs have won numerous awards and prizes. Some of the studio’s first products, such as the “Toledo” chair or the “Regina” lamp, have become iconic in the world of Spanish design. In 1997, Jorge Pensi was awarded the National Design Award, granted by the Ministry of Industry and Energy along with the BCD Foundation, for his professional career. The studio’s approach is characterized by intense communication between the team and the clients throughout all phases of the design process – from the initial idea to the final product – in a relaxed and creative environment. If there is something that defines the products of the Jorge Pensi Design Studio, it is their timeless nature, their endless search for a balance between poetry and realism, matter and emptiness, and abstraction and emotion. Their designs aim to create the maximum sensation with the minimum amount of resources, putting into question the received logic which seeks to verify whether there is a real possibility of creating something new.
